Here are some of our most asked questions with general answers.

During the past several months, Worcester Fitness Owners and Management, along with guidance from state and local health officials, began outlining a comprehensive reopening strategy. Our reopening protocols expand on Worcester Fitness’s previously notable high standards of safety and cleanliness – and takes them to another level entirely.

CLEANING AND SAFETY

 

WHAT ARE YOUR SOCIAL DISTANCING REQUIREMENTS?

Members and staff are required to remain a minimum of 6 feet apart at all times.

Masks must be worn at all times unless in the pool, on a piece of cardio equipment that we’ve spaced 14 feet apart, in the showers or in a private strength/stretching room. In our main strength rooms, there is a maximum of 10 members allowed in the entire space, and 3 people per individual room and masks must be worn at all times.

WHAT IS THE CLUB POLICY ON SYMPTOMATIC ATTENDANCE?

If you do not feel well, please stay home until you feel better. 

If you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, have traveled out of New England or Rhode Island, come in contact with anyone who has tested positive, suspected tested positive, or under quarantine please do not visit us until the appropriate quarantine period has been completed. 

Remember- the health and safety of our members and staff is the shared responsibility of us all. This is new territory for us, but if we work together and acknowledge that there will likely be bumps in the road as we navigate these regulations, we know we will get through this and be able to provide the best health, fitness, and wellness experience possible. DO I NEED TO WEAR A MASK?

Face masks are required when you enter and are moving about the building.

They are not required when you are actively engaged in your workout because we have spaced our equipment out 14 feet, but you should wear them while you are walking between equipment. 

WILL I BE SCREENED?

All of our members and staff will be screened prior to entering the facility. Masks are required by everyone to enter our building. Once you enter our front doors please follow to the check-in area where a staff member will screen you and you will have a contactless check-in and review of our policies. Entrance into our facility is not allowed until receiving clearance from our staff. Remember to remain 6 feet apart from members and staff at all times

HOW WILL THE EQUIPMENT GET CLEANED AFTER EACH USE?

Members are required to clean their cardio equipment before and after exercising. Following usage of the machine, the member will place an orange safety cone on it.  A staff member will disinfect the machine again and remove the cone. Strength equipment is also required to be cleaned before and after exercising and members will spray a sanitizing solution on the equipment that will dry within 5 minutes and leave a disinfected surface. Lockers will be cleaned by members with the sanitizing solution that will dry within 5 minutes and leave a disinfected surface.  Throughout the day, staff will roam the building and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and equipment. 

HOW OFTEN IS THE ENTIRE BUILDING CLEANED?

The majority of frequently touched surfaces will be cleaned every three hours and a cleaning log will be maintained. Equipment and rooms will be sanitized after each member’s use. In addition to routine thorough cleanings during the day, the building will be cleaned regularly every evening. 

WHAT ARE MY RESPONSIBILITIES AS A MEMBER?

We all have to work together in order to offer a safe environment for everyone. We require masks to be worn   We require that you clean your equipment before and after each use and to be respectful of staff and members. Respect each other’s social distance and the guidelines put in place by Worcester Fitness.  We’re all in this together and this shared responsibility will help keep our staff and members safe.

CLUB SERVICES AFFECTED BY COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

 

WHAT ARE THE CLUB HOURS?

Worcester Fitness is expanding our hours after Labor Day.  Effective Tuesday, September 8, 2020 the hours will be:

Monday – Thursday: 5 AM – 9 PM
Monday – Thursday: 5 AM – 8 PM
Saturday & Sunday:  7 AM – 4 PM 

If you have a scheduled reservation or appointment and are only planning to use a reserved service, please do not enter the building until 10 minutes before your scheduled start time. If you are planning on using cardio equipment you may do so while you are awaiting your reserved service time.

DO YOU HAVE OUTDOOR CLASSES?

Yes. While daylight and weather allow, we will offer outdoor classes in our back parking lot. You may view the schedule and sign up for classes by clicking here.

Our classes have limited capacity.

DO YOU HAVE INDOOR CLASSES?

Yes. We have a schedule of indoor group exercise classes.  The schedule may be found here.  We are limited in the number of classes we can provide, and the maximum number of members allowed in each class.  All participants must pre-register for classes.  You may view the schedule and sign up for classes by clicking here.

Please, remember to cancel your reservation if you are not able to attend.

Please arrive no sooner than 10 minutes prior to class and wear your mask until in your designated space.  At the end of class, after wiping down your equipment or space, please exit the room to proceed to our exit or the locker room. Unfortunately, we cannot allow congregating before or after classes at this time.

DO YOU HAVE POOL CLASSES?

Yes.  Pool classes will be held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:30 am-11:15 am.

IS THE POOL OPEN FOR LAP SWIMMING?

Yes, by reservation only.

We are able to offer lap swimming or general lane usage in 45-minute intervals.

Lane reservation is required and a cleansing shower prior to entering the pool.

Masks are required until you enter the water.

Only one swimmer per lane is allowed and remember to stay 6 feet apart on our pool deck.

CAN I USE THE CARDIO EQUIPMENT?

Yes. Our cardio area upstairs does not require a reservation

Our cardio equipment is spread out 14 feet apart so our members are able to take off their masks during strenuous exercise.

Members are required to clean their equipment before and after their workout.

Upon completion, please place an orange safety cone on your machine, which will alert staff to sanitize your piece of equipment for the next user.

CAN I USE THE STRENGTH ROOMS?

Yes, Strength Training rooms are available by reservation only.

Shared Strength Area: Our main strength rooms are open for a maximum of 10 members, with 3 people allowed in each specific room.  Members must remain 6 feet apart and wear a mask at all times. Reservations are required and start on the hour, lasting for 60 minutes.  Everything you touch must be wiped down before and after usage, and a final spray of disinfecting solution must be applied and left to dry.  

Private Strength Areas: We offer 3 private rooms with a variety of strength, cardio, functional training and flexibility equipment.  Because you are alone in a private room, your mask may be removed. Everything you touch must be wiped down before and after usage, and a final spray of disinfecting solution must be applied and left to dry.

CAN I BOOK A MASSAGE?

Yes, By appointment with one of our three licensed massage therapists.

Contact Steve@worcesterfitness to book your appointment and he will review all guidelines with you.  Appointments may also be made at the front desk.

ARE YOU OFFERING PERSONAL TRAINING?

Yes, Personal Training is available by appointment.

We are offering both indoor and outdoor sessions to accommodate our client’s comfort level. Email andy@worcesterfitness.com to schedule your training sessions.  Appointments may also be made at the front desk.  

CAN I USE THE WATER FOUNTAINS?

Water fountains are open as refill stations only. Drinking directly from the fountain is not permitted at this time. Please, remember to bring your own water bottle with you. Bottles should not touch the fountain at any time.

ARE THE LOCKER-ROOMS OPEN?

Yes. Our locker room is open to accommodate your needs. 

Lockers are spaced 6 feet apart and only those with a Worcester Fitness sticker are to be utilized. There is a spray bottle with a disinfectant that members will use when they are completed their locker usage. Spray the solution and leave it to dry. 

Showers are available for those who require one. Hair Dryers are not allowed.  The steam room is closed. Towel service is not available. 

Social distancing is required at all times while inside the locker room.

Masks must be worn at all times with the exception of when you are showering.

IS KID'S KORNER CHILDCARE OPEN?

Not at this time. We hope to be able to open our kid’s room at a later date.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO THE CLUB?

In addition to your normal exercise attire and gear, please bring your own towels and any personal hygiene products. Towel service, steam room, and hairdryers will not be available at this time. 

CAN I USE A LOCKER?

All lockers are closed at this time. Keep your personal belongings with you in your workout zone and limit what you bring inside the club.

CAN I RESERVE THE RACQUETBALL COURT?

Due to the state guidelines, our court is currently closed for racquetball.  The space is being utilized as a private strength room.

HOW CAN I USE A WORCESTER FITNESS GIFT CARD?

Gift cards can be redeemed to pay for any eligible service or program at Worcester Fitness.

DOES MY WORCESTER FITNESS GIFT CARD EVER EXPIRE?

A purchased Worcester Fitness Gift Card has no expiration date, service charges, or dormancy fees. A complimentary Worcester Fitness Gift Card must be used within 90 days of issuance and is non-transferable.
